Air India’s First A350 Takes a Ferry Flight From Singapore

The airline’s dedication to provide customers with a contemporary and aesthetically pleasing experience is reflected in the new livery, which marks a new chapter in Air India’s history.

On Friday, Air India announced that it had completed its first ferry flight with its newly liveried A350-900 aircraft. It was a flight from Toulouse to Singapore.

The airline’s dedication to provide customers with a contemporary and aesthetically pleasing experience is reflected in the new livery, which marks a new chapter in Air India’s history.

On Friday, the airline released the first picture of the A350 on X.

“One more step towards the arrival of the aeroplane that India has been waiting for. “On X, our Airbus A350-900, flying in the new Air India colours, sets off on its inaugural ferry flight from Singapore to Toulouse.”

A senior Air India official stated that the aircraft’s livery was painted in Singapore and that it is currently returning to Toulouse for further procedures in order to be delivered in December 2023.

Air India, which was recently acquired by Tata, has announced plans for significant growth, including the order for 40 Airbus A350 aircraft, which will be gradually integrated over the following years.

“A350-900s and 34 A350-1000s, for a total of 40 Airbus A350s, are on order.” The first A350-900 is anticipated in December 2023, while the remaining five are anticipated by March 2024, according to an Air India official.

The management of Air India has not yet finalised the Airbus A350’s routes. “The aircraft will initially be deployed to domestic routes for crew familiarisation purposes,” an official stated.

Air India has confirmed that it will purchase 250 Airbus planes and 220 new Boeing flights, for a total estimated list price of USD 70 billion.

With Tata as its new owner, the airline is hoping for a turnaround, which is why it is making this calculated step. During the June Paris Air Show this year, Air India was able to secure purchase agreements with both Boeing and Airbus for these aircraft.
